CBD Oil, what’s the deal?
CBD oil is one of the fastest growing trends in the UK. What is the CBD oil and what on earth is it used for?
CBD is one of 104 chemical compounds, known as cannabinoids, that can be found in the cannabis plant. It’s a naturally occurring substance, which can be extracted and mixed with a carrier oil – often hemp seed or coconut – to create CBD oil. CBD is not psychoactive, meaning that it won’t make you ‘high’ – the sensation most commonly associated with cannabis. It is, however, reported to offer a range of health and medicinal benefits – the reason behind its growing acclaim.
CBD is extracted from the flowers and leaves of non drug varieties of cannabis. The extract is then combined with a hemp oil derived from the seeds of the same plant!
CBD can help you relax, but it won’t get you “high”
CBD can help with anxiety by reducing the feelings, restlessness and relax muscle tension. Clinical studies show it helps with social anxiety. It can also help with stop smoking, help with panic attacks, OCD and PTSD. Wow all the problems that I help my clients via my Life Coaching.
CBD is also used as a food supplement to promote feelings of relaxation! It reduces stress and anxiety, and helps to promote a good nights sleep. It does all of this by interacting with your body own endocannabinoid system, enhancing the effect of brain chemicals such as melatonin and serotonin.
CBD may have beneficial effects on acne due to its anti-inflammatory qualities and its ability to control the overproduction of sebum from the sebaceous glands.
Though research is limited at this time, CBD has been shown to effectively treat symptoms related to epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease. CBD was also shown to reduce the progression of Alzheimer’s disease in test-tube and animal studies.
Are there any side effects?
Although CBD is generally considered safe, it can cause adverse reactions like diarrhea and fatigue in some people. It may also interfere with certain medications.
Check with your GP if you are unsure.
Where can I buy CBD oil from?
From looking at google you can buy CBD oil from good health shops. However be careful as some people sell the watered down versions and not the pure oil. My advice is to ensure its been EU regulated and suitable for the UK market and is 100% CBD oil. How much should we take?
The majority of frequent (daily) CBD users find that a dose between 10 and 20 mg (administered once or twice daily) is enough to provide effective relief from a variety of ailments.
